AIDS: The Untold Story

Participants in this workshop: 

Will clear up any misconceptions that interpreters my have of HIV vs AIDS. 

Will understand boundaries that we as interpreters have during these types of assignments. 

Will become familiar with symptoms of HIV/AIDS. 

Will experience an actual first time assessment.

Participant will be shown a variety of acronyms and ASL signs that will enhance their sign choice when called to these types of assignments. 

Will become familiar with the different types of HIV testing. 

Will see actual results of a test video that will give realistic views of what to expect when in this type of situation.
